A Clearer, More Polished Finish for Pool Water

Zodiac Clarifier is an ultra-concentrated liquid treatment for pool water that looks cloudy, dull or short on sparkle. It helps remove the fine suspended material that can remain visible even when normal circulation and filtration are operating.

The cationic polyelectrolyte formula brings tiny particles together into larger groups, allowing the pool filter to collect them more effectively and restore a cleaner, brighter appearance to the water.

How to Use

Measure the required dose for the pool volume and application.
Dilute the product in a clean container of pool water.
Apply the diluted treatment evenly around the edges of the pool.
Run the filtration system for at least 8 hours to collect the grouped particles.
After treatment, backwash the media filter or rinse the cartridge element to remove the additional collected debris.

Dosage & Coverage

Cloudy pool water: Add 40mL per 10,000 litres of pool water.
Weekly maintenance: Add 20mL per 10,000 litres of pool water.

Important Usage Information

Do not exceed the recommended dose. Too much clarifier can interfere with particle grouping and make the water appear cloudier.
Allow approximately one week between clarifier applications.
Use clarifier for fine suspended particles only. Treat active algae, low sanitiser levels or poor water balance separately.
Do not mix directly with other pool chemicals. Add each product separately.

Maintain free chlorine at 2–4ppm and pH at 7.2–7.6. Keep Total Alkalinity at 80–120ppm for fully tiled, pebble and plaster pools, or 125–150ppm for vinyl and fibreglass pools.

Zodiac Clarifier is an ultra-concentrated liquid treatment suitable for cartridge, sand and glass-media filters. Sparkle Clarifier Tablet is a pre-measured alum tablet used through the skimmer basket and is recommended for media-filter pools rather than cartridge filtration.

How is Zodiac Clarifier different from Natural Clarifier?

Zodiac Clarifier uses a cationic polyelectrolyte to clear cloudy water and improve filtration efficiency. Zodiac Natural Clarifier uses naturally occurring chitosan and provides additional support for oils, grease, scum marks and trace metals.

Why should the filter run for at least 8 hours?

The clarifier groups fine suspended particles together, but the filtration system must then collect them. Running the filter for at least 8 hours gives the treated material time to circulate through the system and be removed from the water.

Why can overdosing make the pool water cloudier?

Liquid clarifier relies on electrical charge to bring fine particles together. Too much product can reverse this effect and cause the particles to repel one another, increasing cloudiness instead of reducing it.

Can Zodiac Clarifier be used after algae treatment?

Yes. Once the algae has been controlled, Zodiac Clarifier can help the filter collect fine dead material that remains suspended and leaves the pool water looking cloudy.

What is the difference between a clarifier and a flocculant?

A clarifier groups fine particles for collection by the pool filter while normal circulation continues. A flocculant forms heavier clumps that settle onto the pool floor and must then be vacuumed to waste.
