Iluka Sudsaway is a fast-acting anti-foam for spas and hot tubs, used when unwanted foam appears on the water surface. It works speedily with only a small amount, helping reduce unsightly foaming and restore a cleaner, calmer-looking spa surface.

Foam can form when unwanted dissolved compounds build up in warm, agitated spa water. Sudsaway temporarily reduces the ability of these compounds to create foam, making it a practical quick-correction product when foam is already present.

How to Use

Shake the bottle well before opening and using.
Apply Iluka Sudsaway with the pump running to help distribution.
When foaming occurs, add 2 or 3 capfuls to the spa or hot tub water.
If foaming persists, repeat the application.

Important Usage Information

Use Iluka Sudsaway only when foam is present.
Do not overdose, as this can reverse the process and may increase foaming over time.
Sudsaway does not remove or inactivate foam-causing compounds; it temporarily reduces their ability to produce foam.
Foam can indicate water balance issues or a build-up of unwanted dissolved compounds.
Always follow the directions on the product label.

Recurring foam can be linked to water balance and dissolved residue build-up. Check and maintain key spa balance levels, including pH between 7.2–7.6, Total Alkalinity between 125ppm–150ppm, and Calcium Hardness between 200–275ppm for concrete and tiled spas or hot tubs, or 175–225ppm for other surfaces.

Why does foam appear in spa water?

Foam can appear when sweat, oils, shampoo, soap residue and other unwanted dissolved compounds build up in warm, agitated spa water. It can also suggest the water needs balancing, filter cleaning or further maintenance.

Does Sudsaway remove the cause of foam?

No. Sudsaway temporarily reduces the ability of foam-causing compounds to create foam, but it does not remove or inactivate those compounds. If foam keeps returning, the water may need balancing, filtering or refreshing.

Should I use Sudsaway every week?

No. Sudsaway should only be used when foam is present. It is an as-required foam correction product, not a weekly maintenance treatment.

Can I add more if the foam does not disappear straight away?

If foaming persists, repeat the application. Do not overdose, as using too much can reverse the process and may increase foaming over time.
