Why does a white cloud appear around my cleaner?
This is calcium being gently lifted from the pool surface during initial operation. After the first week, clean your filter as the pool will have undergone a deeper-than-normal clean.
What is the ticking noise coming from the cleaner?
A faint ticking sound is normal. It’s caused by alternating water flow inside the drive tubes and helps indicate that the cleaner is functioning correctly.
Why is my cleaner not moving?
Check and clean the pump and skimmer baskets, ensure there are no leaks in the hose, confirm the Smart-Skim or Auto Skim moves freely, remove any trapped air from the Halo, and check for blockages or worn tracks.
Why is the cleaner floating or lifting?
This usually indicates air trapped in the Halo. Hold the cleaner underwater and gently squeeze each chamber until all bubbles have been released.
Why is the cleaner only covering one area?
Ensure the hose is not kinked or coiled, return jets are pointed downward or sideways, and the hose weight is correctly positioned. Adjust or uncoil the hose if needed.
Can I leave the cleaner in the pool during shocking?
No. Remove the cleaner and hose during pool shocking or heavy chemical dosing. If it’s not safe to swim, it’s not safe for the cleaner.
Does it improve water circulation?
Yes. The cleaner draws water from the bottom, sides and surface of the pool, helping improve circulation through your filtration system and reducing dead spots.
How often should I maintain the cleaner?
Check the skimmer basket, Smart-Skim or Auto Skim valve, tracks and hose connector periodically, and monitor your water chemistry to maximise cleaner lifespan.
Does it work under a pool blanket?
Yes. The cleaner continues to operate and circulate water effectively even when the pool is covered.
