This specialised treatment is made specifically for fibreglass pool surfaces and is used to remove the visible black spots associated with this condition.

Spot Away is used to remove the visible black spots that appear in fibreglass pools as a result of osmosis.

This condition is specific to fibreglass pools and should not be confused with black spot algae. It is a reaction in fibreglass pools that produces a cobalt hydroxide accretion on the fibreglass surface.

By treating this visible surface reaction, Spot Away helps improve the appearance of affected fibreglass pool surfaces.

How to Use

  1. Do not chlorinate the pool for 2 days prior to using Lo-Chlor Spot Away, and remove free available chlorine from the pool water before treatment.
  2. Thoroughly backwash the filtration system to achieve maximum circulation.
  3. Add the required dosage to the pool while the filter is running.
  4. Operate the pump for 4–6 hours daily for up to 7 days if necessary.
  5. If stains persist, a second treatment may be necessary.
  6. When satisfied with removal of stains, add a Lo-Chlor sequestring agent.
  7. Balance the pool water and superchlorinate.

Dosage & Coverage

  • Pack size: 4 kg.
  • Use rate: One 4 kg pack per 50,000 litres of pool water.

Important Usage & Compatibility Information

  • This treatment is for fibreglass pools only and should not be confused with treatment for black spot algae.
  • This treatment removes the visible black spots but does not stop the osmosis that caused them.
  • Black spots will normally reappear after three to six months.
  • Do not add any other pool chemicals or operate any chlorinator during the treatment period.
  • Never add via the skimmer basket or filter.
  • After stain removal, follow with Lo-Chlor Metal Solution to help manage dissolved metals after treatment.
