Proactive Phosphate Management for Clearer Pool Water
Lo-Chlor Starver is a specialised pool maintenance treatment that helps maintain clearer water by managing nutrients that support algae growth.
By reducing phosphate levels, Starver supports more efficient chlorine performance and helps keep your pool looking clear, balanced, and inviting with less ongoing effort.
Highly concentrated and easy to apply, Starver is ideal for regular preventative pool care and works seamlessly alongside your existing sanitising system.

Features & Benefits
- Targets phosphates – helps remove nutrients that contribute to algae growth.
- Supports clearer water – promotes improved water clarity and sparkle.
- Enhances sanitiser efficiency – helps chlorine and other sanitisers work more effectively.
- Filter-friendly formulation – captured by the filter without clouding pool water.
- Compatible with all pool types – suitable for chlorine, salt, mineral, and ioniser systems.
- Concentrated and economical – small doses deliver consistent results.
How It Works
Phosphates enter pool water from a variety of everyday sources, including leaves, dust, fertilisers, and swimmer activity. Even small amounts can support algae growth.
Lo-Chlor Starver works by binding phosphates as water passes through the filter, allowing them to be removed during normal filtration. With fewer nutrients available, algae growth is naturally reduced and water stays clearer for longer.

How to Use
- Ensure pool water pH is between 7.2 and 7.8 before dosing.
- Shake well before use.
- Check filter pressure prior to dosing and clean the filter if required.
- With the pump running, add the dose directly to the skimmer.
- Allow normal filtration to capture phosphates.
- When adding larger volumes, monitor filter pressure during dosing.
- Backwash or clean the filter as required after treatment.
Dosage & Coverage
- Initial Treatment:
- Add 500mL per 50,000 litres every 2–3 days.
- Continue dosing until the container is finished.
- After completing the initial treatment, have phosphate levels re-tested to confirm they are within the recommended range.
- Ongoing Maintenance:
- Once phosphate levels are within the recommended range (0–0.2 ppm), apply a maintenance dose.
- Add 500mL per 50,000 litres every 2 weeks.
- Periodic phosphate testing is recommended to maintain optimal levels.
Important Usage & Compatibility Information
- Compatible with all recognised pool sanitisers and pool finishes.
- Suitable for freshwater and saltwater pools.
- Safe for use in aquariums, ponds, and lakes when used as directed.
- Non-toxic and biodegradable.
- Regular water testing supports consistent results.
Where phosphate levels are around 1.0 ppm or higher, an initial reduction using Starver X is recommended before transitioning to Starver for ongoing maintenance.
