A Practical Way to Help Seal Minor Spa Leaks
SpaCare Leak Sealer is a concentrated formulation developed to help seal minor leaks in spas and hot tubs, including leaks in the shell and internal plumbing system.

Help Reduce Water Loss from Minor Spa Leaks
Helps Seal Minor Leaks
Developed to help seal minor leak points in spas and hot tubs as part of a practical treatment approach.
Suitable for Shell Leaks
Can be used where minor leaks are present in the spa shell.
Works Through Internal Plumbing
Also suitable for minor leaks within the internal plumbing system.
Practical Alternative Before Repair
Provides an easier treatment option to try before moving to more involved repair work for minor leaks.
Simple Treatment Process
Added directly to circulating spa water as part of a straightforward minor leak treatment process.
Specialty Spa Leak Care
A specialised SpaCare product for minor leak treatment in spas and hot tubs.
How It Works
Leak Sealer has a very high pH of about 12. When added to spa or hot tub water, it takes on the water’s normal pH range of around 7.0 to 8.0.
At that point, it no longer functions as a liquid and begins to solidify in the presence of oxygen at the site of the leak, helping form a seal where water is escaping.
How to Use
- Remove all cartridge filters before treatment.
- With the pump running, add the required dose slowly through the skimmer or in front of another suction intake.
- Stir the product back into suspension every 45 minutes while the water circulates.
- Leave the water circulating for a minimum of 3 hours.
- Check whether the leak has stopped or slowed.
- Once treatment is complete, allow residue to settle and remove it with a suitable spa vacuum.
- Replace the cartridge filters and circulate for 45 minutes.
- Remove the cartridges again and rinse thoroughly with fresh water.
Dosage & Coverage
- Dosage: Add 120mL per 1,000 litres of water.
Important Usage & Compatibility Information
- Use only for minor leaks in spas and hot tubs.
- Remove cartridge filters before treatment.
- If your filter system has a bypass option, select BYPASS before dosing where applicable.
- Leak Sealer is heavy and will sink to the deepest point, so it must be stirred back into suspension every 45 minutes during circulation.
- After the initial 3 hours of circulation, if the leak has slowed but not stopped, continue circulating for another 3 hours.
- If the leak is slowed after one application, a second application is recommended.
- After the leak has stopped, fully drain the spa or hot tub and leave it empty for a minimum of 48 hours to allow the product to cure.
- Do not overdose.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if the leak slows down but does not stop completely?
If the leak becomes slower after the first treatment, a second application is recommended. Some minor leaks may need more than one treatment cycle before the sealing result is complete.
Why does the product need to be stirred back into suspension?
Leak Sealer is a heavy product and will settle to the deepest point in the spa. Stirring it back into suspension during circulation helps keep it moving through the system during treatment.
Do I really need to remove the cartridge filters first?
Yes. Cartridge filters should be removed before treatment so the product can circulate properly through the spa system. After treatment, the cartridges should be reinstalled, circulated, then removed again and rinsed thoroughly to clear any residue from the filter pleats.
How do I check whether the treatment is working?
After the initial circulation period, check whether the visible leak has stopped or whether the water level is holding better than before. If the leak has slowed, continue circulation as directed and reassess before deciding whether a second application is needed.
Why does the spa need to be drained after the leak has stopped?
Once the leak has stopped, draining the spa and leaving it empty for at least 48 hours allows the product time to cure properly at the leak site.
What should I do with residue left in the spa after treatment?
After the pump is turned off, any remaining residue should be allowed to settle to the bottom of the spa, then removed with a suitable spa vacuum before normal operation resumes.
Can I use Leak Sealer for any size leak?
Leak Sealer is intended for minor leaks. If water loss is severe, the leak is clearly structural, or the treatment does not improve the leak after repeated application, further inspection or repair may be needed.
