For a personal sauna, apply Sauna Shield when the timber starts to look dull, or every 3 to 6 months as part of regular timber protection. Usage frequency, heat exposure and how many people use the sauna will affect how often it needs to be reapplied.

How often should I apply Sauna Shield in a commercial sauna?

Commercial saunas usually need more frequent timber care. Depending on usage, Sauna Shield may be applied every 1 to 3 months, or when the timber starts to look dull and begins absorbing sweat or water more easily.

Should I apply Sauna Shield to a new sauna before using it?

Yes. For a new sauna installation, clean the timber first with Sauna Shine, allow the wood to dry, then apply Sauna Shield to help protect the timber from first use.

How long should I wait before using the sauna after applying Sauna Shield?

Apply Sauna Shield, allow it to absorb into the timber, wipe off any excess, then wait 30 to 60 minutes until the wood is dry before using the sauna.

Can I apply Sauna Shield too often?
