Powerful Treatment for Very Cloudy Pool Water

Zodiac Liquid Flocculant is designed for very cloudy or exceptionally murky pool water, including suspended debris left after heavy algae treatment, storms or significant contamination.

Its poly aluminium chloride formula gathers fine particles into larger, heavier clumps that settle onto the pool floor for removal through the waste line.

How to Use

For best results, adjust the pool pH to approximately 8.2 before treatment.
Set the filtration system to Recirculate. For cartridge-filter systems, remove the cartridge element before operating the pump.
Measure the required dose and dilute it in a clean bucket of pool water.
Apply the diluted treatment evenly around the edges of the pool.
Run the pump on Recirculate for approximately 1–2 hours.
Turn the pump off and leave the pool undisturbed for 12–24 hours while the debris settles.
Vacuum the settled material slowly to waste.
Return the system to normal filtration, restore the water level if required and rebalance the pool water.

Dosage & Coverage

Dosage: Add 200mL per 10,000 litres of pool water.

Important Usage Information

Do not use flocculant for light haze or routine sparkle maintenance. Use a clarifier for mild cloudiness.
In extreme cases, complete the full settling and vacuuming process before applying a second treatment.
Do not mix directly with other pool chemicals. Add each product separately.

After treatment, return pH to 7.2–7.6 and ensure the sanitiser level is within the normal operating range before swimming.

How is Liquid Flocculant different from a clarifier?

A clarifier helps the pool filter capture fine particles during normal filtration. Liquid Flocculant forms heavier clumps that settle onto the pool floor and are then vacuumed to waste.

Why should the system be set to Recirculate?

Recirculate distributes the flocculant throughout the pool without passing it through the filter media, allowing the suspended particles to group together before settling onto the pool floor.

Why must the settled debris be vacuumed to waste?

Vacuuming to waste removes the settled debris directly from the pool without sending it through the filter or back into the water.

Can Zodiac Liquid Flocculant be used with a cartridge filter?

It may be used only when the cartridge element can be removed and the system is suitably configured for circulation and vacuuming to waste. Flocculant should not pass through the cartridge element because it may cause clogging.

How does pH affect Zodiac Liquid Flocculant?

Liquid Flocculant can work across a broad pH range of approximately 5.0–8.0, so it is not strongly pH-dependent. For best results, raising the pH to approximately 8.2 can make the flocculation process more efficient. Return the pH to 7.2–7.6 after treatment.

What should I do if one treatment does not fully clear the pool?

Complete the settling and vacuuming process first. In extreme cases, a second treatment may then be required.
