Scale Control for Pool Surfaces and Equipment

Zodiac Scale Stop is a liquid scale-control treatment for all pools and pool surfaces. It helps keep calcium suspended in the water, reducing the chance of mineral deposits forming along the waterline, on salt-chlorinator cells and throughout pool equipment.

It can also help soften and reduce existing scale deposits, making it suitable for an initial corrective treatment followed by regular maintenance.

Reduces existing scale: Helps soften and reduce scale deposits already present in the pool.

Dosage & Coverage

Initial treatment: Add 1 litre per 10,000 litres of pool water.
Maintenance treatment: Add 250ml per 10,000 litres every 2 months.

Important Usage Information

If phosphate levels exceed 200ppb, treat the pool with Phosphate Remover before applying Scale Stop, as scale containing insoluble phosphate salts can be extremely difficult to remove.

Does Zodiac Scale Stop lower the calcium-hardness level?

No. Scale Stop keeps calcium suspended to help prevent it from forming deposits, but it does not physically remove calcium from the pool. Diluting the pool with fresh water is the only direct way to lower the calcium content.

Where does pool scale commonly appear?

Scale commonly appears as white or light-grey deposits along the waterline. It can also accumulate on salt-chlorinator cells, heaters, pipework and other pool equipment.

Can Scale Stop help reduce scale on a salt-chlorinator cell?

Yes. By keeping calcium suspended and reducing scale formation, Scale Stop can help limit deposits on salt-cell plates and support normal chlorinator performance.

What can contribute to scale formation in a pool?

Scale is more likely when calcium hardness, pH or Total Alkalinity is too high. Warm water can also make calcium more likely to come out of solution and form deposits.
