Frequently Asked Questions
Why won’t my Aiper Seagull 800B start after I press the power button?
Check that the cleaner is fully charged. Hold the power button until the blue light turns solid and the unit beeps. The cleaner must then be placed in the pool within 30 seconds, otherwise it will switch off automatically and you will need to restart it.
What should I do if the cleaner shuts off after a few seconds in the pool?
Confirm that the unit was placed in the water within 30 seconds of powering on and that the battery is sufficiently charged. Check that the brushes are fitted correctly, the filter tray is seated properly, and there is no debris blocking the impeller or wheels. Also ensure the pool floor is flat, as this model is not suitable for sloped areas.
Why does the cleaner stop in the middle of the pool instead of parking near a wall?
The cleaner will park near a wall when it detects low battery. If it stops in the middle of the pool, it may be an obstruction such as a blocked filter tray or impeller. Check and clean the filter tray and inlet.
What does it mean if the LED shows flashing red, blue, or alternating colours?
The Seagull 800B uses LEDs to indicate working conditions. A slow flashing red light indicates low battery. Fast flashing blue may indicate a blocked filter tray. Alternating red and green or blue and green lights indicate an operational fault, such as an impeller or wheel issue.
My cleaner is not picking up debris — what should I check?
Check the filter tray and wash it immediately after each use, as dried debris can block water flow. Inspect the brushes to ensure they are correctly installed and not worn. Also check the inlet for any obstruction.
The cleaner is moving slowly or not driving straight — what could cause this?
A worn or incorrectly installed brush or wheel can affect traction. Remove the top cover and inspect the brushes and wheels for damage or blockage.
Can I use the Seagull 800B in a pool with slopes or deep ends?
No. This model is designed exclusively for flat-floor pools up to 80 m². Using it on slopes or uneven surfaces may lead to performance issues or cause the unit to stop.
Is it safe to run the cleaner while my pool pump or filtration system is on?
No. The manufacturer advises not to operate the cleaner while the pool’s filtration system is running, as water flow from returns may interfere with the cleaner’s movement.
What happens if I accidentally leave the cleaner charging for too long?
The charging system will stop once the battery is full, indicated by a solid blue light. However, the unit should be charged in a cool, well-ventilated area and not covered while charging. For battery health, unplug the charger once the unit is fully charged.
How should I store the cleaner long-term to protect the battery?
Store the cleaner in a cool, ventilated location away from direct sunlight. If storing for more than a month, charge the battery every three months to maintain 40–60% capacity.
Is it safe to use the cleaner in high-chlorine or saltwater pools?
The cleaner can be used in pools with up to 4 ppm chlorine and up to 5000 ppm salinity. Exceeding these limits may damage components or shorten the cleaner’s service life.
What should I do if water enters the cleaner or I see the "water immersed" warning?
Remove the cleaner from the pool immediately, turn it off, and allow it to dry completely in a shaded, ventilated area. Do not attempt to open the sealed motor compartment. If the warning persists, contact a service technician.
