How It Works

AquaSpa Spa Shock is a chlorine-free oxidiser made with potassium monopersulphate. In warm spa and hot tub water, wastes and other organic contaminants can build up through normal use and reduce freshness, affect water clarity, and place extra load on both sanitising and filtration.

AquaSpa Spa Shock works by oxidising this waste material so it can be dealt with more effectively by AquaSpa Spa Sanitiser and the spa filtration system. This helps destroy odours and wastes missed during normal sanitising, improves water sparkle, and supports a fresher, more comfortable spa environment. It is also fast acting, so a spa or hot tub may be used 15 minutes after dosing.

How to Use

  1. Calculate the correct spa volume before dosing.
  2. Ensure the filtration pump is running.
  3. Add AquaSpa Spa Shock directly to the spa water at the required dose.
  4. Leave the cover off for at least 30 minutes after dosing.

Dosage & Coverage

  • Standard Dose: 20g per 1,000 litres of spa water
  • Frequency: Once every week under normal conditions

Important Usage Information

  • Approved for use in spas and hot tubs as part of the AquaSpa chlorine-free and bromine-free care system.
  • Always dose accurately according to spa volume, add chemicals to water and never water to chemicals, and do not overdose.
  • If adding other AquaSpa products, allow 30-minute intervals between each chemical addition.
  • May also be used after each use if extra oxidation support is needed for optimum water clarity.

Maintain pH at 7.4–7.6, total alkalinity at 125–150ppm, and calcium hardness at 200–275ppm for concrete and tiled spas and hot tubs, or 175–225ppm for other surfaces. AquaSpa Spa Shock supports oxidation and clarity within the AquaSpa system and does not replace the ongoing sanitising step.
