Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my FR1000 iQ stop and blink blue at the waterline instead of continuing the cycle?
This indicates the cleaning cycle has finished. The cleaner automatically climbs to the waterline and waits for removal. If it is not retrieved, it will move to another wall and continue waiting before eventually returning to the pool floor for manual retrieval.
What should I do if the FR1000 iQ won't start cleaning after I place it in the pool?
Ensure the cleaner was started before submerging. The unit will not activate until it senses water, and any trapped air must be released by holding it vertically until bubbling stops. If it still does not start, place it back on the charger for a reset and confirm the selected cleaning mode.
Why is my FR1000 iQ floating or not staying on the pool floor?
Air may be trapped inside the body, especially if the cleaner was submerged too quickly. Remove it, re-submerge slowly, and release air by holding it upright. A full or unclean filter canister may also reduce traction and cause floating.
The cleaner isn't climbing the walls—what could be causing this?
Wall climbing is affected by filter condition, brush wear, and water balance. Ensure the filter canister is clean, check that the brushes are not worn past the indicators, and confirm your pool chemistry is within normal operating levels.
Why is the FR1000 iQ not charging on the station, or why is the LED blinking instead of turning solid?
This can occur if the charging contacts are dirty or wet. Dry both the cleaner and the charging station, then wipe the contacts with a soft cloth. A blinking light may also indicate a temperature issue requiring the unit to cool or warm before charging resumes. If the issue continues, please
contact our team for assistance.
How can I fix poor suction or weak debris collection during a cycle?
Check and rinse the filter canister, remove debris from the brush area, and ensure the cleaner is fully charged. A dirty filter or obstructed inlet reduces water flow and affects debris pickup. For deeper cleaning, use the
Madimack Robotic Filter Cleaner Spray
The FR1000 iQ shows an error and stops mid-cycle—what should I check first?
Remove the cleaner, inspect the filter, and check for obstructions around the brushes, tracks, and impeller. The app will provide guidance for each error code. After resolving the cause, dismiss the error in the app.
Why does the cleaner move backwards off my beach entry or tanning ledge?
The FR1000 iQ includes a safety feature that reverses the cleaner when the impeller detects exposure to air. This prevents it from operating outside the water and protects the motors.
My FR1000 iQ won’t connect to WiFi or keeps losing connection—what can I do?
Ensure the charging station is within range of your home router and not exposed to direct sunlight, which can affect LED visibility. If the network password has changed, the cleaner must be re-paired through the iAquaLink app. Weak outdoor signal may require a WiFi extender.
Why does the app say "Cleaning Interrupted" even though the cleaner looks fine?
This message appears when the cleaner stops due to an obstruction, dirty filter, or temporary motor issue. Review the troubleshooting prompt, clear the obstruction, then reset the error.
What does it mean if the FR1000 iQ becomes too heavy to lift or drains slowly?
This indicates the cleaner is holding excess water. Lift it vertically for several seconds to allow trapped water to drain. Check the filter canister and brush area for debris that may slow internal water flow.
How can I tell when the brushes or tracks need replacing?
The brushes include a wear indicator that becomes level with the blade when replacement is required. Tracks should be replaced when the tread surface becomes smooth or the rib no longer sits firmly in the wheel groove. Genuine replacements are available
here
Is it safe to leave the FR1000 iQ in the pool between cycles?
No. The cleaner must be removed after each cycle. Extended exposure to chemicals and sunlight may damage the battery, seals, and tracks.
Why won’t the FR1000 iQ charge after a long period of storage?
The cleaner may enter a deep-sleep state. Place it on the charging station to wake it. If no LEDs illuminate, clean the charging contacts and try again.
What does the blinking red battery LED mean, and when does the battery need replacement?
A blinking red LED indicates a battery-related issue. Clean the charge plates and try charging again. If the indicator does not display a charge level when removed from the charger, the battery is no longer functional and must be replaced by an authorised technician.
