Frequently Asked Questions
Why is my FR2000 iQ not climbing the walls or reaching the waterline?
This is commonly caused by a full or dirty filter canister, worn brushes or tracks, or unbalanced pool water. Clean the filter, check the wear indicators on the brushes and tracks, and ensure your pool chemistry is within normal operating ranges. Make sure the cleaner is not running in Floor Only mode.
Why does my FR2000 iQ float, lose traction, or struggle to stay on the surface?
This usually means there is air trapped in the body or the flow through the cleaner is restricted. Remove the unit from the pool, then submerge it slowly in a vertical position and wait until all bubbles stop before releasing it. If the issue continues, remove and thoroughly clean the filter canister and check that there is no debris caught around the brush or tracks.
What should I do if the FR2000 iQ is not charging on the station?
First, confirm the charging station is plugged into a protected power outlet and that the base LED is on. Make sure the cleaner is positioned correctly so the contacts on the underside sit fully on the contacts of the station. Wipe both sets of contacts with a soft cloth and fresh water, then dry before placing the cleaner back on the base. If the station LED is blinking or remains off when the cleaner is docked, the station may require service or replacement. For assistance, please
contact us.
Why does the battery LED blink red or orange when charging?
A blinking red or orange light indicates a charging error, temperature issue, or low battery condition. Move the charging station to a shaded area within the recommended temperature range and clean the charging plates. If the battery indicator turns off when removed from the charger, the battery may require replacement.
Why is the FR2000 iQ not connecting to WiFi or losing WiFi connection?
The cleaner only connects to WiFi while on the charging station. Check WiFi strength at the charging location, ensure the station is powered, and verify your router is online. If you recently changed your WiFi password or router, the cleaner will need to be reconfigured in the app.
How do I properly use the Lift System with the remote control?
Press the Lift System button on the remote. The cleaner will drive to the nearest wall, climb to the waterline, and wait for retrieval. Remove it promptly using the handle. If the cleaner does not respond, ensure the remote batteries are fresh and the cleaner has adequate charge.
Why does the FR2000 iQ stop or shut off shortly after starting a cycle?
This may occur if the cleaner detects that it is not fully submerged, the filter is blocked, or the battery is low. Re-submerge the cleaner vertically, allow the air to escape, clean the filter, and ensure it is fully charged before restarting.
What should I do if the cleaner becomes stuck or stops moving?
Check for debris around the brushes, tracks, or suction inlet. Inspect the tracks for wear and verify they are properly seated on the wheels. Clean the filter and re-start the cycle. Genuine replacement parts are available
here.
Why does my FR2000 iQ miss debris or show poor cleaning performance?
A full filter, worn brushes, or blocked suction inlet will reduce cleaning effectiveness. Empty and rinse the filter canister after each use and check the brush wear indicators. Confirm the cleaner is running the appropriate cleaning mode for your pool. For deeper cleaning of the filter, you can use the
Madimack Robotic Filter Cleaner Spray.
How do I clear error codes or "Cleaning Interrupted" messages in the app?
Open the app, select the warning icon, and follow the prompts. After completing the recommended steps, choose "Clear Error" to resume operation. If the issue persists, select "OK" and perform further troubleshooting before restarting.
How do I clean and maintain the dual-stage filter canister?
Remove the canister after each cycle, empty all debris, and rinse thoroughly with fresh water. Periodically wash the filters with mild soapy water and a soft brush. Ensure the canister is fully seated before the next cycle.
What should I do if the cleaner will not drive up the wall for retrieval?
Clean the filter, check that the brushes and tracks are in good condition, and confirm the cleaner is running a mode that includes wall and waterline cleaning. Ensure the tracks are correctly aligned and free of debris.
How do I prevent battery overheating or temperature-related charging errors?
Place the charging station in a shaded, ventilated area away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and pool chemicals. Charging will pause automatically if the temperature is outside the recommended range. Allow the cleaner to cool before restarting charging.
How should I store the FR2000 iQ for daily use and long-term storage?
Store the cleaner and charging base in a dry, shaded area between 10°C and 21°C. Never store the unit in direct sunlight or leave it in the pool when not in use. For long-term storage, keep the battery between 80–100% and recharge at the start of the season.
Can I leave the FR2000 iQ in the pool between cycles or during chemical treatments?
No. The cleaner should be removed after each cycle. Leaving it submerged can damage internal components and reduce battery lifespan. Always remove the cleaner before super-chlorination or adding acid.
