Why is my Rebel 2 not moving or moving too slowly?
The Rebel 2 may not move or may move slowly if the water flow is too low, the filter system requires cleaning, or debris is obstructing the turbine. Confirm the cleaner is operating at the correct RPM, check for blockages inside the cleaner and in the filtration system, and ensure the pump is fully primed.
What RPM or flow rate does the Rebel 2 need for proper operation?
The Rebel 2 operates correctly at 16–18 RPM. Use the flow gauge supplied with the cleaner or manually count the wheel rotations per minute. Adjust the regulator valve until the cleaner falls within the recommended RPM range.
How do I adjust the regulator valve or return line to improve cleaner performance?
If the cleaner’s movement needs improvement, adjust the regulator valve to increase or decrease suction until the RPM is within the correct range. You can also redirect return jets away from the cleaner hose or down the wall so the return flow does not interfere with the cleaner’s path.
Why does my Rebel 2 stay in one area of the pool?
The cleaner may stay in one area if the flow is insufficient, if return jets are pushing it back, or if the hose is too short. Confirm the cleaner is running at the correct RPM, check that the hose length reaches the furthest point of the pool plus one extra section and the leader hose, and adjust the return line direction if required.
Why won’t the Rebel 2 climb the walls or reach the waterline?
If the cleaner will not climb walls, inspect the tyres for wear and replace them if the tread is worn down to the bottom of the grooves. Verify that the leader hose is installed at the cleaner end and that the hose float is positioned correctly. Make sure the cleaner is operating at the recommended RPM range.
Why does the Rebel 2 climb too much or climb out of the pool?
Excessive climbing usually occurs when the suction is too strong. Reduce the flow by opening the regulator valve or adjusting the filtration valves until the cleaner moves normally across the pool floor and lower walls without climbing out.
What should I do if the cleaner keeps getting stuck on the main drain?
If the cleaner becomes stuck on the main drain, make sure the main drain is fully closed for cleaner operation and that it is fitted with a compliant safety grate. Adjust the suction and return jets if necessary to help guide the cleaner away from the drain.
What hose length and hose float position does the Rebel 2 require?
The hose must reach from the connection point to the furthest point in the pool, plus one additional hose section and the leader hose. The hose float should be installed on the second hose section, positioned approximately 63.5 cm above the cleaner, to support correct balance and movement.
How do I remove debris stuck in the turbine or internal gears?
To remove debris, switch the pump off, lift the cleaner from the pool, and disconnect it from the hose.
