Available exclusively from Pool & Spa Warehouse
Zodiac's CX20 is one of Australia's best-selling pool cleaners. It is a modern product that has been recently introduced to the market and will enjoy many years of support. In 2018 it was made exclusively available from Pool & Spa Warehouse, Australia's fastest-growing independent retailer of pool equipment.
Benefits
- Impeccable Cleaning Performance.
Powered by CyclonX Technology, the CX25 ensures strong, consistent suction that captures small, medium, and large debris such as leaves and dirt. With no loss of suction throughout the cleaning cycle, it provides reliable, superior results every time.
- Prevents Algae & Bacteria Growth.
The CX20’s vigorous scrubbing action helps inhibit algae and bacteria formation, reducing your pool’s reliance on chemicals while keeping the water healthier and safer.

- Complete Pool Coverage.
Whether it's the floor, walls, or waterline, the CX20 excels at cleaning every part of your pool, regardless of its shape or size. Its high-grip tracks ensure it can climb and clean vertical surfaces effortlessly, making it perfect for Australian pools.
- Hands-Free, Hassle-Free Operation.
Fully plug-and-play, the CX20 works independently from your pool’s filtration system, reducing wear and tear on your equipment while saving energy. Its intuitive Push 'N' Go eBox control makes operating the cleaner as simple as pressing a button.
- Hygienic, Quick Filter Access.
Never touch debris again. Its filter canister has been designed to be easily accessed and cleaned with minimum fuss and without having to touch the contents. Simply press a button to release the filter, rinse, and you’re ready for the next cleaning cycle.
- Available in Two Models for Tiled and Non-Tiled Pools.
For pools with tiled surfaces, a specialized version of the cleaner is available. This model comes with enhanced grip and tailored cleaning capabilities to ensure thorough and effective cleaning of smooth, slippery surfaces, making it ideal for tiled pools.
Features
- Cyclonic Suction Power: Keeps debris in suspension, preventing the filter from clogging and maintaining maximum cleaning efficiency.
- Push ‘N’ Go Technology: With just one push, access the filter canister easily for quick and hygienic cleaning—no need to touch any debris.
- Plug & Play Installation: Ready to clean right out of the box, the CX20 offers a hassle-free setup, letting you enjoy your spotless pool sooner.
- Customizable Cleaning Modes: Choose between two cleaning modes for tailored cleaning—Floor Only (1h30m) or Full Coverage (floors, walls, and waterline for 2 hours).
- Surface Control System (SCS): Adjust the cleaning power to suit smooth or rough surfaces using the control panel’s settings, for optimal wall-cleaning performance. The LED lights on the eBox illuminate to indicate pump strength.
- Debris Handling: This cleaner is suitable for small, medium, and large debris, effortlessly capturing leaves, dirt, and more. For extra-fine debris like dust or sand, an optional 100-micron filter canister is available to ensure even the finest particles are captured. However, depending on your pool's surface, using this filter may affect the cleaner's ability to climb walls. It is recommended to use the 100-micron canister only when needed for specific cleaning requirements.
- Designed for Every Pool Type: Whether your pool is concrete, fibreglass, tiled*, or vinyl, the CX20 is built to handle it all. With its advanced technology, durable construction, and 15m cable length it’s perfect for any in-ground pool up to 10m x 5m.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I correctly submerge the CX20 before starting a cleaning cycle?
Hold the cleaner vertically in the water and gently move it side to side to release trapped air. Wait until all bubbles stop, then let it sink to the pool floor. Ensure it is fully submerged before switching it on.
What do the Information LED flash codes (1, 2, or 3 flashes) mean?
One flash means the floating cable is not properly connected to the control box. Two flashes indicate the wheels or brushes may be jammed. Three flashes suggest the pump or propeller is obstructed, or the filter is dirty. Correct the issue and restart a cleaning cycle. If the issue continues,
contact us.
What should I do if the CX20 doesn’t move after I press Start?
Check that the power outlet is working, ensure the control box is on, confirm the cleaner is fully submerged, and verify the floating cable is securely connected. If needed, turn the unit off for 20 seconds and start a new cycle. If the issue persists,
contact us.
Why isn’t my CX20 climbing walls or reaching the waterline?
The filter may be dirty, the Surface Control System (SCS) setting may be incorrect, or the brushes may be worn. Clean the filter, adjust the SCS, and check the brushes. Slippery walls from microscopic algae can also prevent climbing; perform a shock treatment if required (remove the cleaner first).
How do I choose the right Surface Control System (SCS) setting for my pool surface?
Match the setting to your surface: rough surfaces require lower grip, smooth surfaces require higher grip. Adjust during operation if the cleaner climbs too slowly or too quickly. The LEDs on the control box display the selected grip level.
Why is the cleaner sucking air at the waterline?
The SCS setting is likely too high for your surface type, causing the cleaner to climb too quickly. Reduce the setting until it reaches the waterline without ingesting air.
Why doesn’t the cleaner stay firmly on the pool floor?
Air may still be trapped inside the cleaner, or the filter canister may be full or clogged. Remove the unit, re-submerge to release all air, and clean the filter before restarting. For improved filter performance, use a dedicated filter cleaner spray such as
Madimack Robotic Filter Cleaner.
Can I leave the CX20 in the pool between cleaning cycles?
No. Remove the cleaner after each cycle, rinse it, and store it out of direct sunlight and weather to extend service life.
Is it safe to swim while the CX20 is operating?
No. Do not enter the pool while the robotic cleaner is running.
Why is fine dust still present after cleaning, and when should I use the optional 100-micron filter?
The standard canister targets general debris. For very fine dust or sand, use the optional 100-micron canister. On some smooth surfaces this finer filter may reduce wall-climbing performance, so use it only when needed.
How do I prevent or fix floating-cable tangling, and how much cable should be in the water?
Use only the cable length needed for the cleaner to reach all areas of the pool. Spread the cable over the surface and avoid leaving coils in the water. After each cycle, unplug and remove twists starting from the cleaner head.
What should I do if the wheels or brushes are jammed with debris?
Remove the cleaner from the pool and check for obstructions around wheels, tracks, and brushes. Clear debris and restart a cycle. If components are worn or damaged, see
Zodiac CX20 spare parts.
How often should I clean the filter canister, and what’s the correct method?
Clean the canister after every cycle. Use the Push ’n’ Go handle to remove it, open the lid, and rinse both the canister and lid thoroughly with clean water. Periodically treat the canister with a filter cleaner such as
Madimack Robotic Filter Cleaner to remove oils and grime.
How do I know when to replace the brushes or tracks?
Replace brushes when the wear indicators are reached, even if wear is uneven. Replace tracks when grip is reduced or they no longer sit correctly in the wheel grooves. Genuine parts are available here:
Zodiac CX20 spare parts.
Is the CX20 safe for vinyl-liner pools?
Yes, however some vinyl patterns can be prone to wear or marking from contact with pool equipment. These cosmetic issues are not covered under warranty.
Should I remove the cleaner before adding chemicals or performing a shock treatment?
Yes. Always remove the cleaner from the pool before adding chemicals and do not operate or leave it in the water during shock chlorination.
Why can’t I use an extension cord, and why must the control box be 3.5 m from the pool edge?
Extension cords can compromise electrical safety and the appliance’s rating. Keeping the control box at least 3.5 m from the pool reduces risk of water contact and meets Australian electrical safety requirements.
What’s the safest way to lift the cleaner out of the pool?
Pull the cleaner close using the cable, then lift it using the handle only. Allow water to drain before fully removing it. Do not lift the unit by the cable.
Is this CX20 model suitable for tiled pools, and what differs in the tiled-pool version?
The standard CX20 is not suitable for tiled pools. A dedicated model for tiles features enhanced grip components for smooth, slippery surfaces. See
Zodiac CX20 Robotic Pool Cleaner for Tiled Pools.
Can I store the CX20 in direct sunlight or leave it outside?
No. Store the cleaner and control box out of direct sunlight and protected from weather. Heat and UV exposure can reduce the lifespan of the plastics, tracks, and cable.
