Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the Scuba N1 Ultra stop and dock when the LED turns red?
A solid red LED indicates the battery is low. The cleaner will automatically stop and move to the nearest wall to make retrieval easier. This is normal operation and helps protect the battery.
Why does the cleaner shut off shortly after I turn it on?
The cleaner performs three quick water-detection checks before starting. If it does not detect water, it will shut down automatically. Ensure the unit is fully submerged and starts its cycle on the pool floor.
What should I do if the cleaner doesn’t start cleaning after entering the pool?
Give the unit a few seconds to complete its water-detection sequence. If it remains idle, check the battery level, ensure no air is trapped inside the device, and verify the power button was held long enough to activate a cleaning mode.
Why does the robot lose connection to the Aiper App when underwater?
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi signals cannot transmit through water, so the cleaner disconnects from the App as soon as it submerges. App functions are only available while the unit is out of the pool.
Can I use the App for real-time control or waterline retrieval?
Not at this time. Real-time control and waterline recall require the optional HydroComm communication buoy, which Aiper plans to release in the future. Until then, the App can only be used for setup and configuration on land.
Why is the cleaner not climbing walls or reaching the waterline properly?
Check that both filters are clean, the tracks are free of debris, and the pool water chemistry is within the recommended range. Excessive algae, slippery surfaces, or a dirty fine filter can reduce traction and waterflow, affecting climbing performance.
What does it mean if the LED indicator flashes red rapidly?
A rapid red flash indicates a fault such as a blocked filter screen, a stalled motor, or an electrical issue. Remove the cleaner from the pool, check for debris, and clean the filters. If the fault continues after basic checks, please
contact us for further assistance.
Why is the suction or cleaning performance reduced?
This is usually caused by clogged filters, debris in the drain fan, worn tracks, or restricted waterflow. Clean both filter layers, check the roller brushes, and inspect the drain area for blockages.
Why does the cleaner not run for the full 180 minutes?
Battery life varies depending on pool size, debris load, temperature, and selected cleaning mode. Heavy debris, wall climbing, and waterline cleaning increase energy use and may shorten runtime.
Is it safe to run the Scuba N1 Ultra while the pool pump/filtration system is on?
No. The manufacturer advises not to operate the cleaner while the pool’s filtration system is running. Strong suction from skimmers and drains can interfere with navigation.
How should I store the cleaner during winter or long periods of non-use?
Clean and dry the entire unit, including tracks, brushes, and filters. Store it indoors in a cool, ventilated location and keep the battery maintained at 40–60% charge, topping up every two months. Charge the device fully before its next use.
