Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the Scuba S1 shut down automatically shortly after being turned on?
The cleaner runs a water-entry check for the first 30 seconds. If it doesn’t detect water three times within that period, it shuts down to protect the motor. Make sure to place it into the pool within one minute of powering on so it can detect water properly.
Why does the Scuba S1 stay stuck on the pool drain for a long time?
Strong suction from the pool’s main drain can temporarily hold the cleaner in place. The Scuba S1 will automatically adjust its propulsion and free itself within a few minutes. Never run the cleaner while the drain is actively drawing water.
Why isn’t Eco Mode completing all three scheduled cleaning cycles?
Eco Mode relies on a full charge to complete the full week of automated 48-hour cycles. If the battery is not fully charged at the start, the cleaner may stop early.
Why doesn’t the Scuba S1 achieve the expected cleaning results?
A clogged filter basket, blocked inlet, or worn brush can reduce cleaning performance. Cleaning the basket after each use and replacing aging parts helps maintain strong suction and coverage.
Why does debris fall out of the cleaner when removing it from the pool?
If the bottom inlet flap is blocked or held open by debris, dirt may escape when lifting the unit. Empty and rinse the filter basket after each use to prevent buildup around the inlet cover.
Why isn’t the Scuba S1 climbing walls properly?
Poor wall contact or a full/clogged filter basket can limit climbing ability. Empty the filter and ensure the caterpillar treads have clean, solid contact with the wall.
Why is the Scuba S1 performing "wheelie" movements in the pool?
This usually indicates reduced water flow caused by a full or clogged debris basket. Rinsing the basket thoroughly will restore stability.
Can the pool pump run at the same time as the Scuba S1?
No. Running the cleaner while the pump is circulating water can interfere with navigation and suction, and may cause the cleaner to stall or the pump to draw air.
Why is the cleaner shutting off before completing its route?
A clogged filter basket, low battery, or obstruction can cause an early stop. Cleaning the filter and checking for trapped debris ensures consistent operation.
What should I check if the LED light flashes rapidly (malfunction warning)?
Rapid flashing indicates a blockage, motor stall, or electrical issue. Inspect the filter basket, inlet, drain fan, and roller brush for obstructions and ensure the unit is fully dry before charging.
Does the Scuba S1 clean steps, ledges, benches, or infinity pool edges?
No. The cleaner requires a continuous surface and will not clean steps, tanning ledges, benches, or the overflow edge of an infinity pool.
Why doesn’t the Scuba S1 activate or start cleaning after being placed in the water?
It may not have detected water during the startup test. Ensure it is fully submerged and placed in the pool within one minute of powering it on. If still unresponsive, check for filter blockages.
How should the Scuba S1 be stored long-term or during winter/off-season?
Clean and dry the unit completely, remove all debris, open the top cover for ventilation, and store it in a cool, indoor location. Charge it to a mid-level every couple of months to maintain battery health.
